Memorable Moments
During the wedding ceremony Eric presented his now step daughter with a necklace symbolizing his acceptance of fatherhood. This is when Eric officially took on the role of being her father. “That was the highlight of the ceremony for me personally because it completed the circle. Not only was I accepting the role as a husband, but I was also accepting the role as a father”, said Eric.
For Shantece, she remembers when the wedding party did an impromptu serenade after the DJ’s equipment had technical difficulties. “My most memorable moment was at the reception when the DJ equipment stopped working for a few minutes. The wedding party told us to come to the middle of the dance floor, and they started singing ‘Knocks Me Off My Feet’ by Stevie Wonder, serenading us as we danced for those few minutes. It felt like it was just us on the dance floor and not another soul in sight. It was breathlessly amazing”, says Shantece.
